Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner, an upcoming PS2 RPG from Atlus, now has an official release date of July 15 for Japan. It will retail for 7,329 yen (about $66.85). Digital Devil Saga will have around 50 hours of gameplay, and offers a unique combat experience.
Characters can devour enemies to gain their abilities, switch between being a human or a demon, and use a system called "Break" to protect themselves and reflect enemy attacks. Another system called "Mantra Flow" will be used to customize and develop characters. At E3, Atlus announced that Digital Devil Saga will be coming to North America sometime in winter 2004.
Digital Devil Saga will also feature a partnership with Etro Anime to produce the game soundtrack. The feature song "Danger" is a melancholy track that is meant to blend in with the game's constantly rainy weather. A downloadable trailer featuring "Danger" is available here. Etro Anime's other work can be found at their website.
