Square Enix announced today that the Japanese release date for Final Fantasy XII, the next entry in their flagship series, has been pushed back until spring of 2005. This is the second delay for the highly anticipated game since it was unveiled last fall. Originally, Square Enix was planning on a summer 2004 release in Japan, which was later changed to winter 2004.
Square Enix's announcement cites a desire to bring it to a level of quality that will properly accommodate the many fans of the series as a reason for the delay. Final Fantasy XII will be Square Enix's featured game at E3, so you can expect more details next week straight from the frontline.
