EverQuest Opens its Gates to Mac Users

Only four years after its initial release on the PC, EverQuest has finally managed to make the transition to Macintosh. Sony Online Entertainment announced today that a new version of the popular MMORPG is now available for sale to Mac customers. Titled simply EverQuest Macintosh Edition, the new package will supply players with a compatible version of EverQuest Classic, as well as all four of the previously released expansions including: The Ruins of Kunark, The Scars of Velious, The Shadows of Luclin, and The Planes of Power.

For those in the audience new to massively multiplayer gaming, EverQuest is a gargantuan online fantasy world, in which players from all over the globe may log on and become warriors or wizards to battle the evils of the world. EverQuest Macintosh Edition is intended to run on the OS X operating system and will carry a suggested retail price of $49.99, which will include a 30 day subscription to the game.
