Crystal Chronicles Gets Something Extra

Recently, Nintendo has been pushing its GameCube/GameBoy Advance integration very seriously, and the latest evidence of this appears in their newest announcement. In a joint agreement between Nintendo and Square Enix, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will now be bundled with a GBA to GameCube link cable.

This recent move not only serves as a promotion for the multiplayer aspect of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (in which the main player is aided by up to 3 other players using GameBoy Advance units as controllers), but also demonstrates Nintendo's support for connectivity between the two systems. All preordered versions of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, as well as versions of the game that reach retail shelves, will be packaged with GBA cables. For those who want to go all out, a special limited edition bundle will be available as well, which includes a crystal white GameCube, GameBoy Advance link cable, memory card, crystal white gamepad, and a copy of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is slated to release on August 8 in Japan with a North American release sometime in November. There has been no announcement as of yet whether or not either package will be available for the North American and European versions of the game.
