Revisit of Ragol Grows Imminent

The release of Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D Revolution is inching its way closer, and it seems Japanese residents will get an early taste of the action. Sonic Team made an announcement recently that the beta test will begin in July or August. Better news still is that players will be able to transfer their existing Phantasy Star Online I and II accounts to the new game, thereby saving a lot of administrative hassle.

Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D Revolution, sequel to one of the very first and most successful console online RPGs, is set to make some comparatively drastic changes in the series. While players will still be exploring the planet of Ragol as "Hunters," new areas, quests and prizes will be offered to them. Most surprisingly, Episode III will feature a brand new strategic turn based combat system which utilizes collectible cards (as referenced by the new title), which players can acquire throughout their exploits.

Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D Revolution is planned only for a GameCube release thus far and does not have a definite release date. However, it is almost assured that this (almost) household name will see a North American release in the months to come. You can read more about the game in Wesley's and Zach's E3 Impressions.
