Square has announced that Final Fantasy XI's total subscribed membership exceeds 90,000 users. The company also revealed that the server's highest number of users online at one time totaled over 55,000. Square still expects to reach its goal of over 200,000 subscribers in Japan.

Final Fantasy XI is Square's first attempt at an online Final Fantasy. Players explore the vast world of Vana'Diel as they join thousands of other gamers on their journey. The game is expected to be released in North America early next year.
