With beta testing for the Windows
version of Final Fantasy XI underway as of last Tuesday, June 18, the PC requirements for the game have also been revealed by Square:
Operating System: Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP CPU: Intel Pentium III (Pentium 4 Recommended)
Memory: 128MB RAM (256MB Recommended)
Graphics: DirectX8.1 AGP compatible (Nvidia GeForce 3 Recommended)
Sound: DirectX8.1 compatible
Harddisk: 4.56GB Free Space
CD-ROM: 4X or Higher (32X Recommended)
Modem: 56k
The Windows version of Final Fantasy XI uses the same online severs as the PlayStation 2
edition of the game. The release date for the Windows version in North America and Europe is unknown; the PlayStation 2
version is expected to hit North America in the first quarter of 2003.
