Neverwinter Nights Goes Gold, Mac

BioWare's eagerly anticipated (and long-delayed) Neverwinter Nights has at last gone gold. After a host of issues, including a legal dispute involving ex-publisher Interplay, BioWare and Infogrames will see the game in stores later this month, much to the delight of PC RPG enthusiasts everywhere. "Finally, PC gamers the world over can breathe--their dream computer game is complete and only days away from their PCs," exulted Jean-Philippe Agati, senior vice president and general manager of Infogrames' Los Angeles Studio. With both a single player mode featuring up to 100 hours of gameplay, and an innovative multiplayer mode supporting classic AD&D-style adventuring with up to 64 players per server, there is certainly little doubt the game will live up to its hype.

The fun doesn't stop here, however. In an announcement today from Infogrames, it was revealed that Macintosh owners will also be able to experience NwN this year as well. The publisher's MacSoft label will be releasing a Mac version this fall for an approximate retail price of $59.99 US. The PC version, to be released under Infogrames' newly resurrected Atari label, will sell for a suggested retail price of $54.99.
