Zelda Title Announced for Game Boy Advance
Zelda: A Link to the Past

As part of their annual pre-E3 press conference, Nintendo announced several new titles for the Gamecube and Game Boy Advance. Foremost among the new announcements was a remake of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The classic game, which was done by the same team responsible for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, drew a favorable response from the crowd. From the first shots shown at the conference, it looks nearly identical to its Super Nintendo counterpart.

The game also has multiplayer features - up to four players with GBA consoles can play in what has been described as a "cooperative but competitive" experience. Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto, and three other developers from Namco, Sega, and Capcom were on hand to demonstrate the multiplayer game to the audience.

Also, the GameCube demo of The Legend of Zelda, shown by Shigeru Miyamoto, had an option to connect the title to A Link to the Past via the Gamecube/GBA connector cable, but at this time, it is not known if and how it will be utilized. More is to be revealed during the expo itself, where Nintendo will have a playable demo for attendees to play.
