New Details, Date For Gransta Chronicle Emerge

The WonderSwan Color is finally going to receive Gransta Chronicle, a RPG from Korean developer Megatron. The game is set to release in Japan on June 13 for a retail price of 5200 yen [approximately $40 US]. The game was earlier slated for a December 2001 release, but Megatron pushed the date back for unknown reasons. The game is not currently slated for a North American release

In addition to the new release date, new details about Gransta Chronicle's story have also surfaced. The game will take place in the medieval kingdom of Karegorum, which was ruled by a sorcerer who succeeded in defeating a demon and sealing him in the Sea of Steel. Tragedy has befallen the kingdom overnight, however, and monsters have begun appearing near the Sea of Steel. Chaos has returned to the kingdom of Karegorum.

Adventurers attempting to save Karegorum from destruction will find an "orthodox RPG," in the words of the company. Players can assume the role of Warrior, Mage, Cleric, or Thief in their quest. Along the way they will encounter up to 60 different enemies, as well 400 unique items. Additionally, the player will be able to capture a monster and train it as a companion, including the abilities to name the monster and equip it with armor
