Asgard is the newest Massively Multiplayer Online RPG from Korea, and looks to offer several innovations to the genre. Five character classes are available from the start, including a fighter class, a monk class, a thief class, a priest class, and a mage class. The mage and the fighter can eventually switch to a knight and bard class as well. The game will be played from a 2-D 3/4 perspective with character and background art resembling that of Ragnarok Online.
Character interaction will be a primary focus of the RPG, with many character gestures available to communicate information to other characters. A free, open beta test began this month and will continue until June. No Japanese or North American release date has been solidified yet, but if other Korean-developed MMORPGs are any indication, it is likely only a matter of time before the game sees worldwide release.
