Pokémon Data Discovered in Iwata Interview
Pokemon

The Pokémon franchise has had more success than any could have expected. It comes as no suprise, then, to hear that the franchise will be making its way onto Nintendo's GameCube. In an interview with Satoru Iwata, the general director at Nintendo, the continuation of the Pokémon series onto the Nintendo GameCube was fleshed out a bit more fully. Though not expected this year, the new games are in development and are expected to give players an experience different from that of other games in the series.

Iwata mentioned that he would like to try something that hadn't been done before rather than following the expected path with a Pokémon Stadium-style game for the Game Boy Advance Pokémon games. A "new way to get the two games to work together" was mentioned, which could turn out to be very interesting. All in all, Iwata said he does not want to disappoint players, and is afraid a direct sequel would do just that.
