Phantasy Star Online Version 2 Delayed

Sonic Team has confirmed their eagerly anticipated add-on to the popular Dreamcast online RPG Phantasy Star Online will be delayed slightly. The Japanese release was originally set for May 31st. No official reason has yet been given for the delay, but the fact that Sonic Team is now developing the game for the Gamecube might just figure into that decision, especially since it has been hinted the company is working on compatibility between the two systems in future.

Fortunately, fans will not have to wait too much longer for the game to be released; the date has only been pushed back by a week. Phantasy Star Online version 2 is confirmed for North American release, but there is no word on exactly when that will take place. The Gamecube version of the game is not expected until sometime in 2002.
