Square, Enix and Namco have teamed up to form a partnership, the companies announced Monday. While details of the deal were not finalized, the three developers announced they had a mutual agreement to exchange between four and five percent of their stock holdings in order to facilitate co-operation and ensure everyone's best interests are served through the agreement.
What this will mean in terms of RPGs is unclear at this point; however, Square has been rumoured to be considering some sort of arcade interface for Playonline, their fledgling internet service. This coincides with speculation that some sort of online arcade service is in the works. RPGamer will continue to follow this situation and will bring you more news as it develops.
