Square's upcoming Final Fantasy titles were only announed at the beginning of this year at Square's Millennium Conference. During the conference, Square showed that it wanted to return to the deformed character style, reverting from the realism brought in the two previous Final Fantasy titles. Less than six months later, the first of the titles announced will be released in just a few months in Japan.

On July 19th, 2000, all those Japanese RPGamers out there will get Final Fantasy IX. Like its predecessor, Final Fantasy IX will be 4 discs. It will sell for 7800 yen ($71 US).
