FF9 confirmed for PSX

Hot on the heels of FF8, Digicube, a subsidiary of Square Co. Ltd. of Japan has confirmed that Final Fantasy IX is under development - and not for the PSX2. Rather, the title will be released on the first generation PlayStation, hopefully sometime early next year. No exact time frame was announced as to not conflict with other games or the release of the PSX2 itself. This means one of two things: FF9 is closer than we think or the PSX2 is further off than we think. Keep it tuned to RPGamer for any new details of this game as they are available.
