Clarifications from Square

P.R. Manager fields questions

In a telephone interview with Lisa Ahern, P.R. and Events Manager at Square, we were able to get a few misconceptions clarified and a few new facts revealed.

The rundown:

  • Translation and localization of games will be done by Square Soft, Inc., not Square Electronic Arts.
  • Rumors of exact months that Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Bushido Blade 2, and Brave Fencer Musashiden will be released are false. They are all scheduled for a fall release, but nothing more specific.
  • The English version of Parasite Eve will be unveiled at E3. Xenogears will also be on display; whether or not the English version will be shown is in question, however. Bushido Blade 2 and Brave Fencer Musashiden will be shown, but in their Japanese forms.
  • Square has no comment on development for platforms other than the PC and Playstation.
  • When asked about bringing over older games that have remained unreleased, such as Tobal 2, Ahern said: "We haven't made any announcements yet, but we're looking into a number of titles."
