Following on from the Japanese trailer for God Eater 3 released earlier in the week to celebrate the series' eighth anniversary, Bandai Namco released both an English-subtitled version of the trailer as well as new screenshots and details for the game. The screenshots and video feature an area called the Ashlands, where a new type of Aragami, Ash Aragami, appear that can use devour attacks and boosts previously only available to God Eaters. These lands are uninhabitable, forcing the remaining members of humanity to live in underground ports.
A new type of God Eater has arisen to deal with the Ashlands, however. Adaptive God Eaters, who include the player character and ally Hugo, have an even closer relationship to Aragami than regular God Eaters, allowing them to be more powerful and resistant to the deadly air of the Ashlands. There are also two new types of God Arc weapon: the dual-bladed Biting Edge that focuses on quick slashes and stabs, and the Ray Gun that unleashed a powerful but timing-dependent ranged attack.
God Eater 3 is the third mainline title in the series, and is being developed for PC and PlayStation 4. No release date has been given at this stage.
