Harebrained Schemes has announced a release date for BattleTech, its strategy RPG based on the tabletop game. The title is set to arrive on PC and Mac on April 24, 2018. A Linux version will be released after the launch of the game. Pre-orders are now available for the game at the price of $39.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99, is also available for the game and features a digital soundtrack and artbook, plus a set of wallpapers.

Along with this announcement came a new trailer that sets the stage for the player, who becomes a mercenary in the service of a deposed ruler attempting to reclaim her title. Players will act as the commander during the game's turn-based missions and can use the rewards gained to purchase new or upgrade existing battle mechs.
