Nintendo today held another Direct presentation, this time detailing various upcoming titles for both Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. The sole 3DS RPG to appear in the presentation was Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, a remake of Nintendo DS title Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Similarly to the recent Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, the 3DS release will include an additional mode and side-story involving Bowser Jr. and his minions. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey will be released in 2019.  Though not an RPG, Detective Pikachu also made an appearance ahead of its launch on March 23, 2018.

Moving onto the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo announced that Okami HD will be coming to the console. The game will be released in the summer of 2018, with the Switch version featuring touchscreen or Joy-Con motion controls for certain puzzles and actions.

Square Enix's Project Octopath Traveler next appeared, with the game now being known simply as Octopath Traveler. Two more main characters were introduced to go with the previously revealed Olberic and Primrose. The first is the merchant Tressa, while the second is the apothecary Alfyn. Also revealed where some details on the game's job system. Characters will have a set base job, but can also equip the base job of another character as an additional job. Finally, a release date of July 13, 2018 was revealed, as well as a special edition including a pop-up book, map, and a replica coin.

Dark Souls: Remastered put in a short appearance with the news that there will be a network test of the Nintendo Switch version that will allow players to try out the game prior to its release on May 25, 2018, though exact details were not provided. A special Solarie of Astore amiibo that lets players do the "Praise the Sun" gesture in-game will also be released.

A couple of new game announcements followed, along with a release date announcement. First, Undertale was announced for Nintendo Switch, though no release date was given. Secondly, Ubisoft's South Park: The Fractured but Whole will be released on Nintendo Switch on April 24, 2018. The date will also see the arrival of the game's first two pieces of DLC — Danger Deck and From Dusk to Casa Bonita — which will be available to buy separately or as part of the Season Pass. The final piece of RPG news was that Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition will be released on May 18, 2018.

Individual trailers will be added below as they become available. The full Direct Presentation is also available to watch; the content of both the North American and European versions were near-identical, so depending on personal preference viewers can watch either the subbed European version or the dubbed North American version.

In one final piece of news, the Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation featured the announcement that SaGa Scarlet Grace will be released for Nintendo Switch. The game, which did not appear in either the North American or European Directs, will be released in the country sometime in 2018.
