Kadokawa Games announced that it plans to release Metal Max Xeno, the latest title in the long-running tank-based RPG series, in North America and Europe. The company did not reveal any details, stating that more information will come from the regional publishers at some point in the future. Previously only one game in the series, which began in 1991, had ever been released in the west, the spin-off title Metal Saga.

Although set in the same post-apocalyptic world as the previous games in the series, Metal Max Xeno marks a bit of a refresh, taking place in a different time and location with some adjustments made to its history. The game is set to be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 19, 2018.
