Accel World vs. Sword Art Online

Bandai Namco has released a large helping of information for Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight. This includes the base city of the game and its functions, some of the game's multiplayer features, and more of the characters. A new Japanese trailer was also released for the game, showing off the game's combat.

In Millennium Twilight, the main hub for the world will be the Floating City of Ryne, where both the accelerated and virtual worlds are in the process of crossing over. This provides numerous services for both sides of the game, including the blacksmith, the materials shop, combat equipment shops (inscription stones for Accel characters, weapons and armor for the Sword Art Online characters), and item shops. NPCs are able to be interacted with here, which may lead to new side quests.

In the multiplayer there will be three different game modes: Duel, Extra Quest, and Team Battle. Duels will be one-versus-one scenarios against another player. Extra Quests will put together a full team of players to tackle a mission together, often defeating a giant monster in the process. Team Battles will be four-versus-four deathmatches.

New characters include Blood Leopard, a prominent figure in the Red Legion who excels at close range combat and can turn into a leopard. Further characters include a collection of four kings that make up a group known as The Kings of Pure Color: Yellow Radio, Blue Knight, Green Grandee, and Purple Thorn. Other character include Klein, Agil, and Sachi, three survivors of the Sword Art Online incident.

Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight releases in Japan on March 16, 2017. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. North America and Europe releases are set for the summer of 2017.
