The Metronomicon

Developer Puuba's rhythm RPG The Metronomicon is headed to consoles. The Slay the Dance Floor edition of the game is being published by Akupara Games and will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017. The console version will introduce multiplayer across all game modes as well as a new playable character and other extras. The currently available PC and Mac versions will also receive a free update to add in the extra content.

The Metronomicon's story mode puts players in control of a party of new masters of the "rhythmic combat arts". Four members are in combat at any one time, with players freely switching between the characters' various rhythm tracks to activate various abilities and spells. The effectiveness of these attacks is based on the player's performance at following the tracks. The game's soundtrack features tracks from an assortment of electronic, synthwave, and chiptune artists. Those wishing to read more about The Metronomicon can check out Zach Welhouse's review of the PC release.
