The prequel to the Japanese crime series Yakuza, Yakuza Zero will be arriving in Europe, along with the previously announced North America, in the early part of 2017. This announcement came with a new trailer, which shows off gameplay and sets the story for the game. The game will be available digitally and at retail for the PlayStation 4.

Yakuza Zero follows younger versions of Kazuma Kiryu and, playable for the first time in the series, Goro Majima, who both seek to rise through the ranks of the Yakuza. Afer becoming embroiled in a murder plot, Kiryu must struggle to protect his station and the honor of his mentor Kazama while Majima attempts to rejoin the clan he was kicked out of.
