The Muteki Corporation announced that it is bringing Dragon Fantasy Book II to the PlayStation 4 under its new title Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice. Described as a director's cut, this release will see new bug fixes, rebalanced combat, and redone storytelling elements. New features will include a difficulty slider, a bestiary to keep track of enemies fought and captured, and a new boss fight.

Dragon Fantasy Book II is a throwback RPG originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The game will feature Cross-Buy, so owners of the game will receive the PlayStation 4 version for free. Muteki still has plans to release the game on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
