Valkyria: Azure Revolution

Sega released some new details for its upcoming Valkyria Chronicles series reboot, Valkyria: Azure Revolution. The fresh information features details on a specialist unit from the Kingdom of Jutland designed to counter the threat of the neighbouring Rus Empire's Valkyria, as well as three important characters.

The specialist unit is officially titled the Anti-Valkyria Unit but popularly known as the Vanargand. Rather than recruiting based on military experience and prowess, it is formed up of those who have a high compatibility with Ragnite, a special mineral that bestows magic-like powers.

Joining the previously-detailed major characters Amleth and Ophelia in the game are Vanargand members Blum Thomasson, Helena Andersen, and Brigitte Ulrich. Blum is an eighteen-year-old private from Jutland's capital, Elsinore, and is good with hands-on technical tasks but not particularly gifted physically. His childhood friend and fellow private Helena worked as a showgirl in a café before enlisting in the army. She is confident and ambitious, and has high physical strength. Finally, Brigitte is twenty-seven years old and a sergeant in the Vanargand. She is a former instructor with a serious personality and seems to become a different person when handling a gun.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is scheduled to release in Japan sometime during winter of 2016. The game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 with no news yet regarding a western release. Sega also recently released two playthrough videos for the version 1.0 demo that is available with Japanese copies of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.
