Grinding Gear Games announced that the newest expansion for its free-to-play action RPG, Path of Exile, will be officially released on March 4, 2016. The Ascendancy expansion revolves around a series of trails set up by Emperor Izaro that grant entry to the Lord's Labyrinth. The Lord's Labyrinth itself is a maze of traps and dangerous enemies that changes daily, offering fresh challenges for players.

In addition to the Lord's Labyrinth and the trails that offer introductions to the sorts of traps contained within, Ascendancy offers a new set of nineteen special classes each with their own particular skill tree.
