Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Square Enix's spin-off series receives its next installment in the form of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3, releasing in Japan on March 24, 2016. The game will still feature the collecting of monsters, as well as letting players ride on certain monsters to access specific in-game areas. Strengthening creatures for battle involves leveling them up, and players can attach accessories to them, granting specific bonuses.

Another way to create stronger, more powerful beasts is through synthesis, and Square Enix provided some details and screenshots about the process in Joker 3. This technique lets you join together two parent monsters to create a new, unique offspring. Monsters are gender-neutral, so they can be joined together at will. Players must then choose the resulting offspring from a list of five possible outcomes; this new "generation" of monster may share a common type with their parents, or may be something new altogether. In addition to the unique skills it's born with, offspring monsters can inherit skills from their respective parents as well. The synthesized monsters can exceed their parents' abilities, and some special monsters can only be obtained via monster fusion.
