Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV made a big appearance at PAX East, where a panel led by lead designers Prasert Prasertvithyakarn and Wan Hazmer went into detail about the game's design and elements of the upcoming demo, Episode Duscae.

In Episode Duscae, the car will not be available as it has broken down and is in need of repairs. One of the goals of the demo is to raise money so that the party can get the car repaired by Cindy. The other goal is to hunt down and defeat the behemoth wandering the region. It's dangerous to wander during the night, so players can make camp to avoid the encounters and to cook a meal that will provide benefits the next day. In Episode Duscae, the meal will be chosen for players, though in the full game the meal chosen will be under the player's control. The demo will also feature numerous sidequests and summoning, though no details on whom the summon would be.

The designers also formally introduced the supporting cast to English audiences. Gladiolus Amicitia is the oldest in the party and the most physically-oriented. Ignis Scientia, childhood friend of Noctis and quite the bookworm, will serve as the healer for the party in the demo. Finally, Prompto Argentum is a classmate of Noctis and has never recieved proper combat training, making him both the most eager and the most nervous. During the game, the party members will try to grab the player's attention, leading them off the beaten path toward side quests or other events, which are entirely optional.

Lastly, there will be two "outposts" which will serve as checkpoints for the demo, Cindy's gas station and the Wiz Chocobo Outpost. Players will be able to buy items and rest here, though doing so will forego the camping bonus in exchange for a temporary experience multiplier and parting with some gil. Chocobos will be rideable in the full game, but not in the demo.

Episode Duscae launches along with first-run copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which hits stores March 17, 2015 in North America and March 20, 2015 in Europe.
