Hand of Fate

Australian developer Defiant Development's first console game, Hand of Fate, is out today on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is a combination between deckbuilder and roguelike, and sees players take on thirteen bosses in a challenge set by the mysterious Dealer.

Players are given a dungeon layout according the encounter cards drawn by the Dealer, with a boss waiting at the end. These encounters come in non-combat and combat forms. Non-combat encounters give players a choice in how to react to a situation, with their choice affecting their possessions or attributes. Meanwhile, combat encounters send the player into a 3D realm where they must fight in real time against the monsters drawn from the Dealer's deck using whatever equipment they have managed to collect in theirs.

The game can be downloaded via Steam for $24.99/£18.99/€22.99, with a 20% discount available until February 24, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are available for $19.99 (European pricing to be confirmed). A Vita release is also planned in the future, although no date has been given. A launch trailer and some screenshots can be viewed below.
