Hasbro and Level-5 are teaming up to bring Yo-Kai Watch to North American audiences. This popular Japanese franchise has sold over 6.5 million copies in Japan, spawning toys, manga, and even an anime. The article does not say that the games are officially being localized, but it does hint the possibility.
Yo-Kai Watch tells the tale of a child named Keita Amano (or a girl named Fumika Kodama, who come across a capsule machine next to a sacred tree in their local town. Upon receiving a capsule from the machine, it brings forth a creature known as a yokai, and proceeds to give the player character a watch that will allow someone to see the yokai that may be haunting people within the town. Not much else is known about this deal, other than Hasbro hopes to bring the franchise over to North America sometime in 2016.
