Etrian Odyssey

Atlus has announced that it is developing Shin Sekaiju no Meikyuu for the Nintendo 3DS handheld. The title will be released in Japan on June 27 for 6279 yen, and is a remake of the original Etrian Odyssey.

The game's development will be handled by Shigeo Komori (Director), Yuji Himukai (Character Design), Shin Nagasawa (Monster Design), and Yuzo Koshiro (Composer). Shin Sekaiju no Meikyuu will feature an expanded story, as well as voice acting.

Update: The main character, who is named by the player, has been tasked by the Etria government to look into earthquakes and mysterious roars that have been reverberating across Etria. Along with his companions, Simon York, Arthur Charles, and Lacuna Sheldon, players travel into ruins, eventually finding a girl named Frederica Irving, who has lost her memories.

Characters can change classes in this title, though their appearances will not change, only the skills available to learn. Players will have the ability to use skill points to learn skills from each class. Because these points are rare, it will be up to the player to customize what skills a character learns.

Players will get missions and quests from the Etria government, and will also find new information and receive new equipment from them. The game will inform players when missions and quests can be reported.
