Having been previously announced for PC, SEGA has revealed that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be released on the PlayStation Vita as well. Speaking at the announcement, series producer Sakai Satoshi stated that he wanted to release the game on a home console. He also said that both versions of Phantasy Star Online 2 will be played on the same server, and the same characters can be played on both as well.
While no exact date for Phantasy Star Online 2 is yet known, the PC version is slated to come out some time this year, and the Vita version in 2013. The game has not been announced for release outside of Japan. The three minute announcement video, which contains footage of the Vita version, can be viewed below.
