In a recent interview, Creative Producer Tetsuya Nomura stated that the upcoming Dissidia game, Dissidia Duodecim, will be the final Dissidia game. Nomura stated that he believed his team had done all it could with the current Dissidia formula, and he wanted to give them the chance to do something besides work on one versus one battles.

Nomura did not count out future Dissidia-themed games, as he said that it's always fun to see older characters come to life in 3D. However, any future Final Fantasy crossovers are likely to look very different from the Dissidia games that we know. Gamers can look forward to seeing Dissidia for the last time when Duodecim is released on March 22.
