Robert Jordan's beloved fantasy series The Wheel of Time may potentially be turned into an RPG. Red Eagle Games and Obsidian Entertainment have announced their partnership to create games based on Jordan's epic fantasy series for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
With the acquisition of the Wheel of Time series, Red Eagle Games and Obsidian Entertainment hope to establish a new video game franchise for Jordan's epic fantasy series. Red Eagle Entertainment believes that Obsidian Entertainment will be able to pen a strong story and complex game for the series.
Rick Selvage, Chief Executive Officer of Red Eagle Games states, "The development team at Obsidian Entertainment has demonstrated time and again that they can successfully blend storytelling with technology to craft a superior RPG game experience." Obsidian Entertainment has quite the resume of RPGs under their belt, which include Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights 2 and its various expansions, and have two 2010 releases coming up with Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas.
