Fallout 3's Morally Ambiguous Second Expansion Dated
03.05.2009

Fallout 3

The second and third expansion packs for Fallout 3 that were delayed back in February are now back on track. The Pitt has been scheduled for release on March 24, again only for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.

The Pitt's moral ambiguity comes from where the game takes place: the massive remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that are occupied by raiders and their slaves. The expansion's story begins when an escaped slave named Wernher contacts the player and claims that the leader of The Pitt has created a cure for mutations. Wernher asks the player to brave the dangers of The Pitt to retrieve this cure. Those who journey to The Pitt can ally themselves with the slaves, the raiders, or find a middle ground in true Fallout 3 style.

Downloading The Pitt will not just add a new area to the game. Players will also be able to find new weapons (such as the AutoAxe), will encounter new enemies and NPCs, will be able to upgrade their characters with new perks, and unlock new achievements. As with Fallout 3's first expansion pack, Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt will cost 800 Microsoft Points.
