BioWare has announced that Electronic Arts Inc. will be publishing the award-winning epic Mass Effect for the PC in May 2008. Now PC gamers can enjoy the space adventure as they take the role of Commander Shepard on a mission to save the galaxy from total annihilation.

Redesigned for the PC, Mass Effect’s PC features include: optimized controls designed specifically so that PC players can play in any way they like; high resolution visuals of detailed textures, characters, and environments; 'hot key' controls players can assign biotic powers and skills to for quicker action; a new decryption mini-game; and an improved inventory screen and functionality, making it easier for players to equip and modify weapons and armor. "EA has struck an agreement with Microsoft to handle future publishing for Mass Effect," says Frank Gibeau, President of EA’s Games Label. "We are looking forward to releasing Mass Effect on the PC this Spring and brand new titles in the future." Originally on the Xbox 360, Mass Effect has received more than 70 awards including Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, and Role-Playing Game of the Year.
