Hoshigami Remix

Aksys Games will be providing some tactical RPG fun this summer with the release of its first Nintendo DS game, Hoshigami Remix. Remix is a remake of the PlayStation's Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth, which was released in North America in 2001.

The kingdoms of Valaim and Nightweld are at war on the floating continent of Mardias. A group of mercenaries, led by a young warrior named Fazz, is caught in the middle as they are contracted to defend the Ruins of Ixia from Valamian invaders. Deep in the shadows, an evil force begins to emerge and Fazz must find a way to stop the coming destruction of Mardias before it is plunged into darkness forever.

Hoshigami Remix will include a host of new and revamped features, including new missions, character art, localization, and three levels of difficulty to choose from. Players can expect more than 50 hours of gameplay branching in many paths and multiple endings, though only one true ending exists. The user interface has been enhanced, and players have the option of using the DS stylus as they play. Another key feature mentioned in the Aksys announcement is the ability to trade special weapons, armor and spells with your friends, though whether the game includes Multiplayer, LAN, or both has not been made clear.

"We are proud to be resurrecting the Hoshigami franchise on the Nintendo DS," said Akibo Shieh, President, Aksys Games. "The multitude of new additions and gameplay enhancements make this the definitive version of Hoshigami and is sure to secure its place among the best tactical RPG games ever created."

Hoshigami Remix is scheduled for release in North America in June 2007 and has a suggested retail price of $29.99 USD. Tune into RPGamer regularly for more information on this title as it is released.
