Namco Bandai Looking to Make a Few Changes

Namco Bandai

This summer Namco Bandai releases Hellgate: London, a PC RPG/shooter that it's currently publishing in conjunction with Electronic Arts. Given the company’s recent affinity for cross-platform development it has been speculated that Hellgate:London may be headed down the same road.

In an interview with Colin Campbell, of Next-Generation, the new Director of Business Development, Zach Karlson, hints "...that it’s highly unlikely that such a notion is far from the company’s planning calendar."

This information comes alongside of several other tidbits that indicate we may start seeing more MMO games from Namco Bandai. Karlson says, "...areas I’m looking to focus on is both multiplayer and online gaming. With the convergence of platforms into the online and PC space we’re really looking to start driving into that arena."

"Online is a very big console characteristic now so we’re really looking at what multi-player games we bring to the space as well. With the Xbox360 and the ease of portability between the PC and Xbox 360 as well as the platform of the PS3, it really makes sense for us to really look at online as a platform rather than looking at individual consoles by themselves, in a bubble.", adds Karlson.

We'll be sure to report futher on this developing story as more information becomes available. And be sure to keep an eye out for Hellgate: London at your local retailer later this year.
