TEST: Oblivion

Last week, details were released about the PlayStation 3 version of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but not much about the PSP version. This week, Bethesda has revealed more information about The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, again in Official PlayStation Magazine.

The PSP version of the title incorporates the same equipment system as the other versions of Oblivion. Players will create a character and then customize the look with items found in the game. Each change in equipment is reflected on the character's appearance. Also, those already familiar with the skills in Oblivion will find almost all of them carried over. Three skills were dropped from the game because they were deemed unnecessary.

Gameplay for the PSP version will have a little more focus on combat. As if to emphasize this point, there are ten large dungeons to explore. To accommodate the PSP controls, the L button will be used for strafing, and the R button will be used for looking around. Bethesda also announced there will be no connectivity between the PSP and PS3 versions of Oblivion.

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion is set for release in Spring 2007 in both North America and Europe.
