Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach

Turbine has officially launched Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game (MMORPG) inspired by the popular Dungeons & Dragons franchise. Stormreach is based in the world of Eberron and makes use of Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 rules, the latest rules update in the series.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach is the first MMORPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons namebrand. The game will include authentic D&D characters from the Eberron setting, with five different races to play (human, elf, halfing, dwarf, or warforged), and nine different classes (barbarian, bard, cleric, fighter, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, and wizard). Players who join up with other players can make use of the game's integrated voice chat system, but Stormreach will require balanced parties consisting of multiple classes in order to succeed.

Characters will engage in an active combat control system that will unfold in real time with abilities such as blocking and dodging affecting the outcome. Stormreach aims to make combat involve a player's skill as well as his or her character's statistics. Those who venture forth from the city of Stormreach (from which the game derives it's name) will face dungeons filled with dangerous traps to avoid, intricate puzzles to solve, and ferocious monsters to battle. The game will offer private instanced dungeons for parties to enter in their search for treasures and rewards, and reward players for cooperately completing different quest objectives.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach has a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of 49.99 USD.
