PLAY! A Video Game Symphony

As previously announced in RPGamer last year, a new concert series called Play! A Video Game Symphony is looking to take video game music to a global stage, and aims to play on five different continents before it reaches completion.

So far, four locations have been formally announced for Play! -- Chicago, IL, where the show will be premiering on May 27, at Rosemont Theatre; Stockholm, Sweden, which sold out in just two weeks for the show on June 14 at Konserthuset; Philadelphia, PA on July 27 at The Mann Center, and Toronto, Canada on September 30 at the Hummingbird Centre. More dates are expected to be announced soon, and tickets can be purchased directly from the Play! website.

An updated list of games featured in Play! is as follows:

In all, the series plans on playing music from nearly 20 titles. Music from The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, a First Person Shooter for both PC and Xbox released in 2004, will be exclusively featured at the concert in Stockholm, Sweden.

Play! A Video Game Symphony will play popular tunes in symphony centers and concert halls to a worldwide audience. The series plans to hold shows in "classy, prestigeous venues" in North America starting this spring, and will follow with concerts in Europe, Asia, South America, and Oceania.
