Uematsu's Music

Recently, RPGamer reported the possibility of a Dear Friends - Music from Final Fantasy in Los Angelis, coinciding with the beginning of E3 in May. Up until now, mum has been the word from Square Enix officials concerning a concert at this time. Today however, Square Enix has given official word that they will indeed be holding a concert during E3. However, the concert will entail a few different conventions than their previous concerts; in fact, it will not be a part of the Dear Friends concert series at all.

Like this year's previous Dear Friends concerts, this concert, dubbed "More Friends - Music From Final Fantasy - With Special Guests," will be conducted by Grammy award winner Arnie Roth. The World Festival Symphony Orchestra will be manning the instruments, while the CSUF University Singers will be providing vocals for the event. The night's festivities will not end with only orchastrated versions of Nobuo Uematsu's work however, as Nobuo Uematsu's metal Final Fantasy remix band The Black Mages have been confirmed for an appearence at the concert, in addition to other as-of-yet unnannounced guest performers.

In related news, a posting on the Seattle Symphony's official website has revealed that they have two Final Fantasy-themed concerts scheduled for their 2005-2006 season on Wednesday July 13th, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday July 15th, 2006 at 8 p.m. When any new developments concerning any of the aforementioned concerts become available, RPGamer will bring you the latest.
