Matrix Online

Three pieces of The Matrix Online news hit the public at once today. The first of such stories regards the beta testing. As has been previously reported, those that pre-order the game are permitted to enter early and take part in the beta testing. As of today, those players are no longer under a non-disclosure agreement, as the game has entered an open phase of beta testing. This decision to lift the NDA comes hot on the heels of last week's rigorous stress test, which was reportedly successful. Now, File Planet has the beta client available for download. Meanwhile, the next stress test is scheduled for early March.

In addition to that beta update, European gamers need no longer wonder what The Matrix Online has in store. According to Sega Europe, registrations are now being accepted for European beta testing.

Finally, release dates were announced for both North America and Europe. North Americans can see how deep the rabbit hole goes on March 22nd, while Europeans get their chance on April 8th. The Matrix Online will be sold through all major game retailers for a suggested retail price of $49.99 US. Gamers can either subscribe online for a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 or purchase pre-paid game cards with 60 days of play time for $29.99.
