Drag-On Dragoon 2/Square Enix

Two months ago Square Enix unveiled Drag-On Dragoon 2: Fuuin no Kurenai, Haitoku no Kuro, the sequel to their 2004 PS2 title Drakengard, known as Drag-On Dragoon in Japan. Now Square Enix has opened an official site to accompany their RPG hack-and-slasher.

Drakengard was released in March of last year. Named a "perfect hybrid of genres" by Square Enix CEO Jun Iwasaki, it featured both hack-and-slash, ground-based fighting and aerial dragon battles. Several highly emphasized facets of the game included the availablility of 60 different weapons, an independent leveling scheme for weapons, characters, and dragons, and a few select instances when the player could battle while moving through the dialogue. The sequel is set to follow this same trend, only with a newer control scheme and more refined gameplay.

Drag-On Dragoon 2: Fuuin no Kurenai, Haitoku no Kuro is slated for a spring release in Japan. No news on an North American release date has been announced.
