Jade Empire Gets Solid Release Date

Two weeks ago it was announced that Microsoft and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic developer BioWare had plans for a limited edition version of Jade Empire, the company's martial arts/fantasy RPG hybrid. Along with this announcement came a new release date of April 26, a delay of nearly a month from the previously assumed March 29.

Yesterday, however, this delay was halved when Microsoft gave both the regular and limited edition versions of Jade Empire the solid release date of April 14. According to Microsoft, the international gaming market will see "worldwide distribution occurring shortly thereafter" as well. This Xbox exclusive game will feature a price tag of $49.95, and as of yet has not been rated by the ESRB.

Like BioWare's KOTOR, Jade Empire casts the player as a hero weilding fantastic powers, but instead of utilizing a futuristic setting, the game takes place in a mythical China, complete with magic, monsters, and martial arts masters.
