The AIAS Presents its Awards

AIAS

Following suit after BAFTA published its set of awards for the gaming industry, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has let loose with its take on this year's selection. Games like Ubisoft Montreal's Prince of Persia and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty took the gold in many of the AIAS' 36 categories, though many RPGs were nominated as well, some ranking highest in their divisions.

The following RPGs won awards:

- Everquest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath - Massively Multiplayer/Persistent World Game of the Year

- Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Handheld Game of the Year

- Final Fantasy X-2's Tara Strong - Outstanding Achievement in Character Performance - Female (Rikku)

- The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker - Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction

- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Computer Role Playing Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Character or Story Development

The following RPGs were nominated for awards:

- Dark Cloud 2 - Console Role Playing Game of the Year

- Disgaea - Hour of Darkness - Console Role Playing Game of the Year

- Deus Ex: Invisible War - Console First Person Action Game of the Year, Computer Role Playing Game of the Year

- Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna - Computer Role Playing Game of the Year

- Final Fantasy X-2 - Console Role Playing Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction

- Fire Emblem - Handheld Game of the Year

- The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker - Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Console Gaming, Platform Action/Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Outstanding Achievement in Character or Story Development, Outstanding Achievement in Game Play Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering

- Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga - Handheld Game of the Year

- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Game of the Year, Computer Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Computer Gaming, Outstanding Innovation in Console Gaming, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Outstanding Achievement in Game Play Engineering

Xenosaga Episode I - Console Role Playing Game of the Year
