In a recent press release, Square officially announced the release date for Final Fantasy Origins as April 8, 2003 and the price tag as $30 in U.S. funds.

The upcoming PlayStation title features the remakes of Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II, which was never previously released in North America. Like Final Fantasy Anthology, which contained Final Fantasy V and VI, Final Fantasy Origins will have new CG movies, bestiaries, artwork from Yoshitaka Amano, and a "memo file" function that allows for quick saves.
