From Software's ambitious card action RPG, Rune, recently received a release date. The game is set for release in Japan for Nintendo's GameCube on April 25, 2002. It will retail at 6,800 yen ($50.70 USD). Rune will be one of the first RPGs to debut on the GameCube.

Over 100 magical cards are spread throughout Rune's world, and it is up to the player to seek these out and use them as aid against the onslaught of the evil black fog that threatens the game's five mythical kingdoms. No North American release date has been announced yet, but one will likely become available in the coming months.
