Nintendo Slashes Initial GameBoy Advance Shipment

Nintendo has announced their initial shipment of GameBoy Advance units to North America will be cut in half from the originally planned one million units. The launch date will not be affected by this move, but it does mean that pre-ordering the system might be advisable for those who just have to get their hands on Nintendo's latest piece of portable gaming goodness first.

When asked about reasons for the decrease in the shipment, Nintendo stated that the other 500,000 units will be diverted to Europe instead, to cover the June 22nd launch there. The North American launch is still slated for June 11th, and the GameBoy Advance will continue to retail at a suggested price of $99.95.
